Our new Fairtrade Roasted Salted macadamias from smallholder farmers in Malawi.

In 2024, Nutcellars and HIMACUL, the farmer coop union we work alongside in Malawi, have become Fairtrade certified.

We are so proud to now bring you Fairtrade macadamia nuts from smallholder farmers in Malawi.

These are the same Roasted Salted Macadamias you love, but we are now paying a Fairtrade premium to the farmers for every Fairtrade product sold.

These Fairtrade premiums are an incentive for more farmers to join HIMACUL, which strengthens the organisation, and means more benefits for all the members.

This is something we have been working towards for many years, and again, it is a privilege to bring these Fairtrade macadamia nuts from the farmers in Malawi to you in the UK.

Purpose, partnership and heritage

Sourced from Fairtrade certified smallholder farmers in Malawi through the HIMACUL co-operative union. Fairtrade certification ensures a premium is paid to farmers to support community priorities and long-term development.

Through our partnership with Neno Macadamia Trust, we support initiatives that strengthen smallholder livelihoods and long-term resilience in Malawi. In conjunction, Nutcellars commits to buying the entire crop produced by HIMACUL smallholder farmers, and we have done so since 2019.

Built on decades of macadamia experience between Malawi and the UK.
